Long Weekend
I had a really nice weekend. Friday evening, I went to see Nine Lives, which is a really good movie. Saturday, I had my normal routine: yoga, lunch at Benevolence, a stroll around the North Market. This time at the North Market, I tried the Thai Chili ice cream at Jeni's which Martha recommended. It was excellent! A spicy kick. I also picked up some more popcorn from the popcorn lady.
Then I drove over to the Clay Cafe in Grandview and tried to figure out if I could make something for a gift for my anonymous acts of kindness idea. Using tracing paper and a quilt pattern book, I was able to make 2 tiles which I hope will come out nicely. We'll see when I pick them up. Since it was so relaxing to make the tiles, I think this is going to be my gift for the year: only 50 more to go!
Of course, I had to take a nap when I got home and then later, I was starved, so I went to Chipotle.
Sunday, I drove to Mom's. We ate at Bob Evan's, I went with Mark to eat his lunch, and then Mom, Lynn and I saw Glory Road at the theatre. We snuck in the popcorn in my big bag. Ethan, David and Sheena were at Mom's when we got home.
Monday, a bonus day off, I slept in late and went to Border's where I picked up a guide to Paris (my next vacation?), an excellent book of quilt patterns (for my tiles), and Beekeeping for Dummies, in case David is interested in starting this hobby with me. I need an assistant, because I don't think I can handle a hive by myself. I ate lunch at Panera, read for class, read a novel I've been working on (Man Walks into a Room: not very good), and examined the quilt book. I happened to bump in to Martha at Panera so we talked for awhile. I enjoyed sitting in the sun and reading. Another nap and then I watched Pay It Forward which is a really sad movie but inspiring.
I wish I had 3 day weekends every week which would be an eventual goal of mine: to be able to cut back my hours so I can explore hobbies and ventures.
